About Give Kids a Smile
The American Dental Association began the Give Kids A Smile program in 2003 as a way for ADA members to join with others in the community to provide dental services to underserved children. The program initially began as a one-day event in February, but has since grown to local and national events year-round.
In October 2012, the OSU College of Dentistry created the first ever Give Kids a Smile Day at the OSU Dental Clinic. These events are run solely on donations and volunteer efforts, and our first event was a huge success! Over 100 children were provided dental care, including exams, cleanings, sealants, fillings, and extractions. Our goal for the next event in February is to be able to treat 200 patients!
